I pretty much have the same tastes in canon or fanworks (although I'm pickier about how it's handled in canon) Also, unless otherwise noted, gender is irrelevant:
Male & Female friendships that never become canon romances (I say canon cause I will still read ship fic for most of these... although there have been exceptions)
Battle Couples
Large age difference Also by large I mean 5+ years if the younger is a minor and 10+ if the younger is an adult.
Related to the above: Teacher/Student
Slice of Life (either as the main story or as moments in a more action biased canon)
"I love them: they loves my secret identity" Best superhero trope ever. Please note: I do like the love interest to know when they become a couple.
"Do not go where I can not follow" (platonic or romantic pairs}
Fairy tale retellings
Getting Crap Past the Radar
Coming of Age Stories
Mutual Pining
Soulmates (both romantic and platonic)
Courtly Love
Reincarnation Romance (bonus points if that relationship was star-crossed in one or more of their past lives)
